Data Retention Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This page says what data related to this site exists, who keeps it, and for how long. It goes with the Privacy Policy.

Data the site keeps itself

None. The site has no database, no forms and no server logs of its own. I do not store visitor data outside the services listed below.

Google Analytics

  • Event data collected by Google Analytics 4 is kept for 14 months, the longest period the service allows for this setting, and then deleted automatically by Google. I can also delete it earlier.
  • Cookies set by Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_DBP55LGRMM (set only when analytics is on) expire after 2 years in your browser. The cookie banner’s own consent cookie, which only remembers your Accept or Reject choice, expires after 6 months. You can delete all of them at any time in your browser settings.
  • Aggregated reports do not identify individual visitors.

Other data kept by others

  • Google Tag Manager: Google receives technical request data when the file loads, under its own policies. I do not control that period.
  • GitHub, which hosts the site, may keep technical request data for the period set in its own policies.
  • Google Search Console, if I use it, keeps aggregated search performance data for the period set by Google.
  • LinkedIn: messages you send through LinkedIn stay on LinkedIn under its policies.

Source code

The site’s source code is stored in a public GitHub repository, together with its history. It contains no visitor data.

Blockchain transactions

A donation made to a wallet address shown on this site is recorded permanently on a public blockchain. Nobody, including me, can delete it.

Changes

If I start keeping any other data, I will describe what, why and for how long on this page before it happens.
